Consent
Registration for an Event
By registering for an event organised by Verint, you (the attendee) agree that the personal details registered with Verint for the Event may be used to communicate the location, timetable and other arrangements for attendees. The attendee agrees that they have the authority to agree to these terms on behalf of themselves and the organisation which employs them or which they represent. While at the Event, attendees may be allocated an ID badge to assist organisation and communications during the Event. Where you are registering for the Event due to a referral or a relationship which you and/or your organisation may have with a Verint partner, Verint may share your registration and your chosen Event preferences with that partner. Verint may use a third party event registration provider to facilitate the registration process and where applicable, that registration provider may process your Personal Data for other reasons not determined by Verint, including for example, payment or account registration. In those circumstances that registration provider may be an independent data controller and attendee may be required by the registration provider to accept their terms and conditions and privacy policy in addition to these Verint Event Terms and Conditions. Verint encourages all attendees to read carefully any such terms prior to completing registration.
During attendance at an Event
At the Event, Verint may make available badges to attendees which use bar-code, RFI or other technologies to facilitate networking, connections, data-exchange and event analytics (“Smart Badge”). The attendee may need to download a third-party app to a smartphone or other device to take advantage of the functionality of the Smart Badge. In downloading such third-party app, the attendee may be required to accept the third party’s terms and conditions and privacy policy. In those circumstances that third party provider may be an independent data controller and Verint encourages all attendees to read carefully any such terms prior to downloading the app. Unless otherwise stated during the registration, using a Smart Badge is not compulsory (save as required for reasons of Event security and proof of entitlement to attend) and if an attendee does not wish to use the Smart Badge they should notify Verint prior to the Event date.
During the Event, an attendee may be approached by Verint, Event sponsors or other attendees who will seek to obtain your details either as indicated on the badge or by using the functionality of the Smart Badge. By permitting a Smart Badge to be scanned by Verint, Verint will contact the attendee solely in connection with Verint’s solutions, Events, webinars, surveys about Verint, industry best practice, and thought leadership. By permitting a badge to be scanned by an Event sponsor or other attendee, the attendee consents to the use of their personal data to be contacted by that sponsor or other attendee for the purposes made known to the attendee either at the Event or in subsequent communications by the sponsor or other attendee. In addition, there may be “touch points” or other opportunities for attendees to use their Smart Badges, for example: when entering a room or attending an Event to register attendance and subscribe to receive related materials by email or other means, visiting a booth to request further information or subscribe to follow-up emails, or in some other way connected to the Event which will be clearly communicated at the “touch point”.
The attendee registering for the Event consents to be photographed, filmed and/or otherwise recorded at the Event. Where a Smart Badge is made available to the attendee, this Smart Badge may include geo-tracking functionality to provide Verint with Event insights and analytics, including for example: movements within the Event venue, time spent at particular exhibitions, zones or areas within the Event venue. These Smart Badges are provided by a third party vendor to Verint and act as Verint’s sub-processor of Personal Data. The geo-tracking and analytics may, in some circumstances be aggregated and shared with Event sponsors but in these circumstances this geo-tracking data will not contain Personal Data relating to a specific attendee. The attendee’s attendance at the Event constitutes their consent to such photography, filming and/or recording and to any use, in any and all media throughout the universe in perpetuity, of their appearance, voice and name for any purpose whatsoever in connection with the production presently entitled.
In connection with an Event, Verint may use carefully selected third parties to assist in the organisation of the Event and with technology such as Smart Badges, mobile apps to assist with the attendee’s preferences for registration of particular seminars or workshops. By registering for the Event, the attendee consents for Verint to share the attendee’s personal data with such third parties for these purposes.
Liability
Verint is not responsible for the conduct of the attendee while at the Event. The attendee agrees to hold Verint harmless for any loss, personal injury or death that may occur at the Event caused by the attendee (except where caused by the negligence of Verint, its employees or servants). Verint shall not be liable for any losses howsoever caused during the Event provided that nothing in these terms shall exclude Verint’s liability for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of Verint, its employees or servants. These Event terms are governed by English law and the attendee (and the organisation which the attendee is employed by or which they represent) submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
